A shallow glass dish held over a tealight. The heat is gentle and indirect: what you put in the dish warms and releases its scent without ever catching fire, so there is no smoke and no ash.
Fill the dish, light a tealight underneath, and leave it. The scent comes up slowly over about twenty minutes and fades on its own. Tip out the spent material, rinse the dish, done.
Two ways to use it. In the evening, dried botanicals — lavender buds, rosemary, cypress or cedar tips, citrus peel, or a resin such as frankincense. In the morning, loose tea leaves: warming them lifts the aroma out of the leaf before any water touches it. The dish was made for both.
Size. Warmer 14.8 cm long, 7.8 cm tall (5.8 × 3.1 in). The upper dish lifts out for filling and rinsing: 10 cm across, 1.5 cm deep (3.9 × 0.6 in).
Hand-poured liuli glass. The colour runs through the body of the glass rather than sitting on the surface, so no two pieces come out the same. Five colours: Bone White, Ink Wash, Celadon Green, Blossom Pink, Twilight Purple.
Before you light it. Uses a standard tealight, not included. Set it on a heat-safe surface, away from anything that can catch. The dish gets hot — let it cool before handling. Never leave a lit candle unattended.
